Rubin acquired North American rights for the untitled work from Norman Brokaw, Chairman of the William Morris Agency, Jennifer Rudolph Walsh, Executive Vice President and Co-Head of the William Morris Agency’s Worldwide Literary Department and Mel Berger, Senior Vice President of William Morris. In his book, as yet untitled, Shaffer will share his behind-the-scenes experiences as a musician, arranger, composer, comedian, and actor, from his days on NBC’s Saturday Night Live in the late 1970s, through his twenty-five-plus year association with Letterman, first as musical director and leader of “The World’s Most Dangerous Band” for Late Night with David Letterman (1982-1993) and ever since as musical director and bandleader of “The CBS Orchestra” on Late Show with David Letterman.
